Hi Natalie,

Nah, I don't go in for the hollow earth stuff. I know they do over at LDS Anarchy but after researcing it I am convinced that it is both bad science and a hoax that is being perpetuated. As we read in the introduction to the Wikipedia article:

Hollow Earth is a belief that the planet Earth has a hollow interior and, possibly, a habitable inner surface. The hypothesis of a Hollow Earth has long been contradicted by overwhelming evidence, as well as by the modern understanding of planet formation, and the scientific community now dismisses the notion as pseudoscience. The concept of a hollow Earth has recurred as a premise for adventure fiction, and also features in some conspiracy theory and folklore.

That's about how I feel about it. On the other hand, I believe that the Ten tribes are indeed on a planet somewhere in our universe, possibly on their way to our solar system right now. I hear bells going off in some of your minds. Tim's lost it you may say. Well, I confess that it is an unusual belief, but the quote in the essay above and the quotes in this essay are what cause me to believe this.

Gathering Israel was the topic in sunday school this past sunday, and this verse really stood out to me after reading your post. D&C 110: 11. which reads: After this vision closed, the heavens were again opened unto us; and Moses appeared before us, and committed unto us the keys of the gathering of Israel from the four parts of the earth, and the leading of the ten tribes from the land of the north.
Correct me if I am wrong please. But it seems to separate the two. Israel from the four parts of the earth. And the leading of the ten tribes from the north. It also seems to say that the ten tribes( at least at the time when this revelation was given to Joseph Smith) are still together in this land of the North. Whether that land be lands on this earth, or another planet that at sometime was north of the earth, I don't know.

Thank you Tim/Mr.Gary for your posts. I have since a child known and pondered the words of that hymn. I have written you once before about a repeating dream/vision I had had that led me to search out the meaning of some disturbing and very odd images. This is how I found out for the first time of stories regarding "planet x" and the potential of a large solar system body with a huge elliptical orbit. That our sun may actually be a binary system which in astronomy is a common occurrence.Which them eventually led me to find you. I actually wanted to post to ask the forum about a couple of things. I am having a change come over me which has come in increments through my life after various severe health issues and near death experiences. Being raised LDS it is not a reach to "believe" in spirits and "supra natural". I grew up on the stories of my grandmothers' and the many spiritual gifts they had given to them that helped keep them and their family safe. Now for me I am becoming sensitive to changes and I know I can't be the only one that is changing. I am becoming more aware and developing new gifts at an alarming rate. I also have had my first taste of the darker side and opposition of being able to interact on a spirit level. Though it is off from my question if you would like or if it fits into any forum I would be happy to share in greater detail what has been going on. To sum it up. It has just made me even more in awe at the greatness of the Lord and I see his hand in all things. I want to ask if there are others willing to talk with me about the changes in the way the earth feels. Either in vibration/frequency or in any other perceptible way to them. I also want to ask about the book of Enoch. Please forgive me if this has been discussed. I scanned past blogs but may have missed it. Do you know what the official current stance is on this work? What do you think of it. I find it compelling for the fact that what has been happening to me is coming full circle and then I stumble upon this book and it has in it many of the ideas I have been introduced to and given knowledge of through the spirit. I am not for sure what it all means for I am sure I am not done yet. I feel as if I am reading a book and skipping through it. Not in order and only pieces. Trying all the while to figure out if I am reading a comedy, drama, action, or crazy sci-fi/fantasy book! I get impatient and want to skip to the end and read the ending but I have not recieved those pages. OK I know stupid analogy!..its just the mental image I get! I am curious what is known about it by your forum and if there are any other works that are similar. I also had a really creepy incident with my computer. Have you ever heard of a being trying to get you to open up a portal to a not so good place through sending you odd "formulas" during live chat until you either repeat it in your head or aloud, like someone from behind a door shouting what the lock combination is to you on the outside? All this while not knowing really what it is they are doing? I am not making it up, honestly. I am asking sincerely. I would love to hear any comments from anyone. Please don't waste your time if it is just to bash. I may sound a little off to a lot but I am sincere. I am looking forward to your comments and appreciate varied opinions. Best wishes, Shelly

I think that hymn was taken out of the hymn book in 1912 for a reason. I think that a lot of the 10 tribes are still on the earth, in the northern countries like the Baltic States, Scandinavia, northern Asia, etc. I think the whole "seperate planet" theory is kind of far-fetched, and there isn't a whole lot of valid evidence to back it up.

See also Hymns, 1891, no. 322:

"Thou, earth, wast once a glorious sphere
of noble magnitude,
And didst with majesty appear,
among the worlds of God.

"But thy dimensions have been torn
asunder, piece by piece,
And each dismembered fragment borne
abroad to distant space.

"When Enoch could no longer stay
amid corruption here,
Part of thyself was borne away
to form another sphere.

"That portion where his city stood
he gained by right approved;
And nearer to the throne of God
his planet upward moved.

"And when the Lord saw fit to hide
the "ten lost tribes" away,
Thou, earth, was severed to provide
the orb on which they stay.

"And thus, from time to time thy size
has been diminished, till
Thou seemest the law of sacrifice
created to fulfil....

"When Satan's hosts are overcome,
the martyred, princely race
Will claim thee, their celestial home
—their royal dwelling-place.

"A 'restitution' yet must come,
that will to thee restore,
By that grand law of worlds,
thy sum of matter heretofore.

"And thou, O earth, will leave the track
Thou hast been doomed to trace;
The Gods with shouts will bring thee back
To fill thy native place."

(Eliza R.
“But thy dimensions have been torn
asunder, piece by piece,
And each dismembered fragment borne
abroad to distant space.

“When Enoch could no longer stay
amid corruption here,
Part of thyself was borne away
to form another sphere.
