I am really starting to agree with you Bro. Malone.

I just wish we could ask Abraham..indeed, he is quite possibly the greatest astronomer to have ever lived in any of the dispensations. Wishful thinking perhaps haha.

Hi Fallenstar,

There seem to be two schools of thought about the location of the lost ten tribes among LDS scholars and independent thinkers. One is that the tribes are still among us, dispersed and scattered all over the world.

The other commonly held idea is that the tribes are still together as a body or a group, hidden away in some place here upon the earth.

I do not subscribe to either of these interpretations but hold to the ideas put forth by Orson Pratt and several other early Brethren that the lost ten tribes were removed as a body or people, along with a portion of the earth.

Now that seems very far-fetched to some people and has been dismissed as nonsense. Nevertheless, I feel it is the most accurate interpretation of the scriptures.

What would be helpful to our discussion of this subject is to come to an agreement on the definition of some key words and phrases in the scriptures you quote. For example, how would you define north countries?

Did the ten tribes travel north from the land of Palestine until they came to the area of the Black Sea? Did they go around the Black Sea into Russia, or perhaps continue further north to the White Sea where we find Finland and Norway?

Could it be that the portion of the earth that was lifted up with them was the area where the Black Sea is now? Just a question - nothing more - no proof offered.

Apparently there are prophets among the lost ten tribes. How or from where will they hear the voice of the Lord calling them forth? What does it mean to "no longer stay themselves"? What are these rocks that they will smite and with what will they smite them? And especially where does the ice come from and why will it flow down at their presence?

Some have conjectured that the lost ten tribes are hidden under the ice somewhere in the vicinity of the North Pole. I don't think so and most people I talk to about this don't believe that either. So are they on the earth or not? And what's up with this highway that will be cast up in the midst of the great deep? Just what exactly is the great deep?

There are a lot of unanswered questions that do no have definitive answers from any modern prophet other than what some of the early Brethren said that they heard Joseph Smith taught. For more information, see my essay entitled, "Just where exactly are the lost ten tribes?" Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.
I thought the ten lost tribes were in the earth, DC 88:79,104 Moses 6:63 is it not written, And they who are in the north countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord; and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves; and they shall smite the rocks, and the ice shall flow down at their presence.
27 And an highway shall be cast up in the midst of the great deep.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 133:26 - 27)

Very interesting. I've always believed (don't know why or from where) that the "falling stars" is actually visual because the Earth will be moving at super speeds back towards Kolab (and hence the Sun will turn black - disappear and the stars will appear to be falling).

Perhaps all this "space junk" colliding with the Earth will cause the above such that "Falling stars" will hit the Earth and "Falling stars" will appear in the heavens...
